2020 ASEEES Annual Convention
The 52nd ASEEES Annual Convention will be in held at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park on November 5-8, 2020.
Notifications: We received an exceptionally high number of session and paper proposals this year. The proposal acceptance/rejection notifications were sent out on April 10. If you have not received your notification, please check your spam folder first. The email is sent through our convention management software and coming from “@allacademic.com”. It is the responsibility of the session organizers to notify the session participants, although we did cc them in the email notifications. The convention program schedule notification will be sent out by no later than early June.
ASEEES MEMBERSHIP: We’re requesting that all participants on panels and roundtables who are scholars and specialists of Russian, East European and Eurasian studies in any discipline in the US or abroad be current members of ASEEES by April 30. In this time of uncertainty, we of course understand if your membership renewal needs to be delayed. Scholars and specialists outside the field do not need to be members. Please check the membership rules.
CONVENTION REGISTRATION: Convention registration is now open. Please feel free to take your time registering. Early bird registration with discounted registration rates ends on August 14. All participants are expected to pre-register and pay the appropriate registration fee by Sept 23. TRAVEL GRANTS: ASEEES is delighted to offer five travel grants programs for the convention. The deadline for the following travel grants is April 29: the Davis Graduate Student Travel Grant, the Regional Scholar Travel Grant, the Convention Opportunity Travel Grant, and the Russian Scholar Travel Grant. For this year we are waiving the membership requirement, although we encourage the applicants to become members. The deadline for the Diversity and Inclusion Travel Grant is August 31.
VISA LETTER REQUESTS: If you need a letter to obtain a US visa, please complete this form. Please check with the US embassy or consulate in your country for the latest information on visa processing. We encourage you to visit the US Department of State travel site updates on travel and visa advisories.
